Case Study: Renovating Historic Buildings

FMPS has spent the last 40 years fixing and restoring buildings built from 1860 to 1990.  This includes such projects as restoring all the marble walls and stairs in historic Cincinnati City Hall (1893), to the gutting and complete renovation of 11 historic schools built in the 1910-20’s.

The renovation and restoration of Cincinnati Union Terminal has been the most significant restoration experience of my career.  I had the opportunity to work with an incredible project team that completed the work on time and on budget.

In addition to typical responsibilities for an Owner’s Rep, this project required our managing negotiations to temporarily relocate the Amtrak station.  We also negotiated arrangements with CSX to complete work on the western portion of the building in close proximity to railroad tracks.
