About Us
Michael Burson dreamed of becoming an architect in the 9th grade to help improve the community. I feel fortunate that my career has realized my dream allowing me to serve institutions critical to the community.
From 2015-2019 FMPS served as the Owner’s Representative for restoration and renovation of Cincinnati Union Terminal. A National Historic Landmark and iconic symbol in the community, now home to the Cincinnati Museum Center.
FMPS served as volunteer from 2013-15 to assist Cincinnati Shelterhouse construct a new women’s homeless shelter and renovate a former bakery to serve as the men’s homeless shelter.
Our most challenging role was to lead the development and implementation of a 10-year $1.2 Billion program to replace or renovate all of Cincinnati Public Schools’ facilities. As district Facilities Director until 2011, and then consultant to 2013, Michael was responsible for selecting and directing all design professionals, acquisition and sale of $millions of property, engaging the communities in the design of the projects, managing the construction process, and development of preventive maintenance and capital replacement programs for the completed projects.
He was previously facility manager for a 650 bed university affiliated teaching hospital, and served as Director of Facility Management for the City of Cincinnati where he was responsible for approximately 69 properties including fire and police facilities, city hall, and public spaces in the downtown core and operations of a historic public market. Prior to this period, Michael was responsible for maintenance and capital improvements in the school district for 15 years.
